Dark Wood Floor

I am Sara Postma, an artist and photographer rooted in the Uintah Basin, where my creative journey began in Vernal, UT. With over 28 years of experience, I have evolved my craft beyond the studio—creating handcrafted barnwood art that weaves together reclaimed wood, beadwork, and fine art photography. Each piece in my Through the Grain collection tells a story of resilience, connection, and the beauty found in the imperfect.

Alongside my creative work, I am now a certified ICF Professional Coach and High-Performance Coach. I’ve been trained in trauma response and breathwork, learning how to help clients regulate the nervous system and create calm from within. As a high-performance coach, I guide people in identifying what’s holding them back from creating the life they want—even if they’re not yet sure what that looks like. (And that’s okay; we’ll uncover it together.)

My work—both in art and in portraits—is grounded in the belief that creativity should be deeply personal. Whether you’re commissioning a custom barnwood piece or stepping into a portrait session, my intention is always the same: to create something that honors your story and enriches your home. Every element—from the reclaimed wood I select to the way your portraits are revealed—is designed to transform moments and memories into meaningful, lasting art.

As I continue growing in my coaching practice, my focus remains unchanged: to celebrate your strength, confidence, and purpose through art. Through the Grain is more than a collection—it’s a reflection of life’s texture and the beauty within every story.

Take a moment to explore my Through the Grain collection and portrait work, and envision what we can create together. I can’t wait to craft something extraordinary with you.
